Finding out you are expecting a baby is a very exciting time! You find yourself in a new world where your body starts to change and you begin to mould your life and surroundings to get them ready for the arrival of a new person. I asked some Yummy Mummies to suggest some products and services that they found really useful while they were pregnant.

I asked some of my recently pregnant friends what products they found were really useful during pregnancy and here’s what they said…
Badedas Bath products – It was described as a ‘god send’ by one Mummy and is great for a bath after labour.
Pregnancy Pillow – The Summer Infant Body Support Pillow is a soft, supportive body-length pillow designed to comfort mum during and after pregnancy. The patented shape contours the body to support tummy, back and hips for a better sleep, and it is extra large for complete comfort and support. The zipped insert makes this a versatile body pillow for both mum and baby; rolls into a pillow for baby’s tummy time, a toddler’s reading chair, or mum’s feeding pillow.
Caesarean Belt – Theresa says “My Mum bought me a C Section Belt from Mothercare. It keeps pressure on the wound and has a pocket in it so you can insert and cooling or heated pad. It also has a plastic shield so protects against any bumps.
Bio Oil Bio Oil is a specialist skincare product that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone.
Apps to keep you happy
My Yummy Mummies recommended these apps to help you keep track of your pregnancy.
Daisy Foundation – The Daisy Foundation offers a truly unique range of classes and workshops across their Daisy Birthing, Daisy Parent and Daisy Baby programs, which together support women, families and infants throughout the entire pre-natal period. There is a great blog too with birth stories and product reviews
North East Sling library – Based in Durham, offering sling hire in person and by post across the region. With over 250 slings to choose from, they can help the North East to carry their babies big and small. Sling hire starts at just £5 for 2 weeks hire.
Birth and Baby Network – A fantastic online resource giving you information on pregnancy, birth preparation, labour and beyond. The website has details on local pregnancy classes and interesting blog posts and guides.
The network has a Birth & Baby Family Centre in North Shields run by Janine Rudin – an experienced specialist in pregnancy, birth and early parenting. It is a haven for parents from pregnancy and throughout life with a young family, with affordable courses & workshops, practitioners, drop-in sessions and support.
